Women´s WFCQ 2017 EUR1 Team presentations


 

 SWEDEN


The team in Madrid is Sweden´s best for the moment. Their aim is to qualify to the WFC and to work with the small details in their offensive play but also to build the group. 

Players to watch

Anna Wijk  One of the best players in the world at the moment.    
Cornelia Fjellstedt  She has very good shot and understanding of the game.   
Sara Steen  A smart player with good working capacity.

 

NORWAY


 

Team Norways aim is to continue to develop as a team both on and off the court.

Players to watch

Tone Einstulen  Tone has shown excellence in her club in Sweden.   
Karen Farnes Karen continues to develop in her club in Sweden and she is the captain of the team.   
Lene Benkø Lene is an authentic attacking viking. 

 

DENMARK


 

Team Denmark is an organized, passing and positioning team. Which relays on a strong defensive structure at all times, and adapts offensive to the given opposition. A young group, with a good balance between young talented players and strong experienced players. The core of the team has already gained valuable international experience and are just entering their prime. They are going to Madrid with a lot of confidence and believe in themselves.   

Players to watch

Cecilia Di Nardo The best player in Denmark. Plays in Svenska Superligan (SSL) for Malmö FBC.   
Camilla Bjerregaard  Fast goalkeeper with a high standard of skill.   
Annika Bengtsson She is a quick forward with good technique and excellent goal maker.

 

SLOVENIA


 

Slovenian team is pretty young and has a lot of players who are going to compete on international level for the first time. Nevertheless, players are good athletes and they have a good team spirit. It is going to be a though struggle against France. Good defensive play can be a problem for Norway and Denmark to make a high result. Playing against Sweden will definitely be the reward for the hard work they did in the past months.   

Players to watch

Karin Žavbi The most experienced girl in the team who has good defensive skills and can play good in critical moments.   
Anamarija Kosir Player with good technique and a good sense for reading the game. Good abilities also for protecting the ball.   
Tina Čemažar The youngest player in the team, goalkeeper who has good catching skills.

 

 

FRANCE


 

France will play its 2nd WFCQ two years after a "premiere" in Latvia. The team has been renewed, as 11 players will play their first international tournament. Their team, mainly composed with French league players, wants to do its best and improve its results comparing to WFCQ 2015. Playing vs Sweden will be a unique moment in the players´ career.

Players to watch   

Pauline Meneust She is a very talented and technical player. She is the best scorer in French league history.  
Sandie Masi Sandie plays in a Swiss league. She plays very well technically and physically.      
Melissa Mare Melissa is an experienced goalkeeper in French league. She moves very fast on the line and is a key player for the team.
